Shipyard Maine Coast Half and Full Marathon
Welcome to the SHIPYARD MAINE COAST Volunteer Sign Up Sheet, the race is held on May 11th, 2019 starting at 7:30am. Please select at least one job or shift, you may select more than one as long as the shift times do not overlap. Job descriptions are listed below. Would you like to work at a WATER STATION?
You will be responsible for aid station set up, filling cups, placing drinks and food (provided), and handing out cups to runners. Shift lengths vary depending on how far you are from the start line (shorter shifts are near the start of the race, longer shifts are at the end). You must be able to transport yourself to the given location. All volunteers will receive a Maine Coast volunteer shirt, water bottle, and draw sting bag. Would you like to work as a COURSE MARSHAL?
You will be responsible for directing runners along the course. Safety is the number one priority. We will provide you with a map, a safety vest, and a flag. Shift lengths vary depending on how far you are from the start line (shorter shifts are near the start of the race, longer shifts are at the end). You must be able to transport yourself to the given location. All volunteers will receive a Maine Coast volunteer shirt, water bottle, and draw sting bag.
Early Morning: 7:00am - 10:00am
Morning: 8:00am - 12:00pm
Afternoon: 9:00am - 1:30pm

Would you like to work as a START/FINISH SUPPORT?
START LINE: Kennebunk High School, guide runners to the amenities and the starting line. FINISH LINE: UNE - Biddeford, hand runners a finisher's medal and a bottle of water. All volunteers will receive a Maine Coast volunteer shirt, water bottle, and draw sting bag.
Start Line: 6:30am - 8:00am (Kennebunk High School)
Start Line: 7:00am - 8:30am (UNE - Biddeford)
Finish Line: 8:15am - 11:30am (UNE - Biddeford)
Finish Line: 11:00am - 2:00pm (UNE - Biddeford)

BIB PICK UP
Would you like to work at BIB PICK UP?
You will be responsible for distributing bib numbers and pre-purchased merchandise (jackets, mugs, etc) to the runners. The pre-race Expo will be held in the Campus Center Gym at 15 Hills Beach Road, Biddeford, ME. Pizza dinner will be provided to Friday night shift volunteers. All volunteers will receive a Maine Coast volunteer shirt, water bottle, and draw sting bag.

Bib Pick Up Friday: 5:00pm - 8:00pm
Bib Pick Up Saturday: 5:45am - 8:00am

I know that volunteering for a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I assume all risks associated with volunteering in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including freezing temperatures, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release GiddyUp Events LLC, the University of New England, Southern Maine Health Care, the Town of Kennebunk, the Town of Kennebunkport, the City of Biddeford, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
