Post Socratic Seminar -Overby
From the book Dreadlocks
How do you feel about writing your own questions for the Socratic Seminar?
I found it challenging and not enjoyable
I am still a little unsure but willing to get better at it
I did okay writing questions and I know I can do better
I would like some examples of how to write great questions.
How do you feel about talking during the Socratic Seminar discussion?
I would rather stay quiet and listen to others ask and answer questions.
Sometimes it makes me nervous but I am up for the challenge.
I really like to ask and answer questions during the discussion.
Choose 2 things the class should work on for the next Socratic Seminar?
Refer to the text for evidence
Allow everyone to speak, so no one dominates the conversation
Refer to the page, paragraph, or section of text more often
Stay on topic discussing what the author thought, not what we thought
Have fewer side conversations or interruptions
What type of text would you like to read for our next seminar? (nonfiction topic, type of fiction, etc.)
