Wanna Intern on Team Karson?
Campaign interns are a critical part of our voter outreach and grassroots organizing operation. An intern on Karson’s campaign will gain real experience in field work, voter contact, volunteer engagement, and campaign operations while helping our team execute a winning plan.
By default, we offer a $750 stipend plus a victory bonus. This amount is a baseline, and can be adjusted based on hours and responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities
Field Canvassing & Door Knocking
Canvass targeted neighborhoods and precincts to identify voters and build support
Knock doors with Karson and other campaign staff/volunteers using campaign scripts to communicate priorities and answer basic questions
Distribute campaign literature and collect voter feedback
Support visibility efforts at community events and campaign activities
Help prepare “walk packets” and ensure materials are organized and stocked
Phone Banking & Voter Outreach
Make voter contact calls with Karson and other campaign staff/volunteers to identify supporters persuade undecided voters, and mobilize turnout
Follow campaign scripts and accurately record responses
Help organize phone bank shifts and keep call lists current
GOTV: Early Voting + Election Day
Support Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) operations during Early Voting (June 11-June 18) and Election Day (June 23)
Help staff and organize poll/early vote site visibility with signs, literature, and active participation
Make GOTV calls/texts to supporters with voting reminders and location information
Assist with supporter-chase efforts (following up with supporters who have not yet voted)
Help coordinate Election Day logistics, like materials, staging, volunteer assignments, and rapid response needs
Report voter issues or questions to campaign leadership quickly and accurately
Active Role in Campaigning & Campaign Decisions
On Team Karson, interns are not just observers. They are trusted members of the team. That means interns will:
Be included in regular check-ins and team meetings to review what’s working and where we need to improve
Help identify trends from voter conversations, including top concerns, persuadables, and frequent questions
Provide feedback on messaging, literature, and outreach strategy based on real voter contact
Help shape weekly priorities for field, phones, and GOTV planning
Take initiative by bringing ideas to the team and helping execute them quickly
