Equality Federation invites our state and national partners to submit workshop proposals for our annual Leadership Conference, which will be held July 20-21 in Denver, Colorado.
Leadership Conference is an important opportunity for leaders in our LGBTQ+ state-based movement to share best practices and engage with each other on the challenges and opportunities we face. State partners, national partners, and major funders to come together for a few days of amazing connection.
Things to consider when preparing your proposal:
Half of the attendees will be staff and board members of state LGBTQ+ advocacy groups and half will be staff of national LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations and funders.
Content can include anything that is relevant to the work of state equality groups. Past presentations have included issue briefings, skills trainings, and facilitated conversations about current challenges.
Sessions that focus only on one state or the work of one particular organization are unlikely to be accepted; feel free to talk to us about ideas of other groups to partner with who are doing related work.
We strongly encourage sessions that include presenters from statewide organizations, BIPOC, people who are trans/GNC-identified, especially those living at the intersections of those identities. Panel sessions whose presenters are all-male or all-white are unlikely to be accepted as submitted.
Workshop sessions are 75 minutes in length. All sessions must include a strong interactive component. We prefer interactive approaches that go beyond question and answer to formats that encourage participants to share their own experiences and expertise, such as facilitated discussion or group activities. EFI staff are available to help you develop interactive strategies for your session.
To respect your time, we are asking for a minimal amount of information now. If your workshop is accepted, we will request additional details such as a description for the program guide. In the event we receive similar or related proposals we may contact you to encourage collaboration with other potential presenters.
If you have any questions or would like to talk through a potential topic, contact Diana González, our director of leadership programs, at email@example.com
Proposals must be submitted by April 13, 2023.
