Application for ISD 279 Legislative Action Committee for 2022-2023 School Year
Thank you for your interest in ISD 279 Osseo Area Schools' Legislative Action Committee (LAC). The district is seeking dedicated and committed individuals to join the committee to advocate on behalf of Osseo Area Schools students and students across the state with state and federal legislators. Parents and community members interested in participating on the LAC must complete this application. The application will be used by district administration to select the members of the LAC.  Please complete this form to help with our planning.

LAC membership will be comprised of 2 School Board members, up to 8 parents/community members, Executive Director of Finance and Operations, District General Counsel, Director of Community Relations, Director of Government Affairs at Ewald Consulting (Legislative Liaison), and up to 4 students who will be selected under a separate application process.

Bylaws of ISD 279 Legislative Action Committee

The information requested below is collected in order to assist with the selection of members for the LAC. The information will be used to help ensure that LAC members reflect diverse perspectives among the families and community members served by the school district. You are not required to provide the information; however, failure to do so may result in the selection team's inability to fully consider your potential contributions to the committee. The information in your initial application will only be shared with district administration involved in the LAC selection process. However, if you are selected as a member of the LAC, your name and your employment information (if applicable) will become public data, in accordance with Minn. Statute § 13.43.

By submitting this completed application:
- You give permission to ISD 279 Osseo Area Schools to use information about you in the way described above;
- You acknowledge that you have read and understand the Bylaws of the Osseo Area Schools Legislative Action Committee; and
- You further acknowledge that if you are selected for the Legislative Action Committee, you will commit to attend at least the majority of meetings held during the 2022-23 school year. 

**Schedule for 2022-23 LAC Membership Applications**
Application deadline:  Must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2022
Notification to applicants will be completed by Wednesday, October 19, 2022

**Full Committee Meeting Dates**
(Meeting start time is 6:30 p.m. The meeting schedule is subject to change as LAC deems necessary to complete its work or for other needs, such as district presentations. Please note that meetings may be held virtually.)
