Kivalliq Alternative Energy (KAE) is proposing to build renewable energy projects in Arviat. These projects have been initiated by the Hamlet Council of Arviat and NRStor, and recently been transferred to KAE. Once built, the project will provide clean, reliable, and affordable energy to the community, increasing energy independence and security while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and a dependence on imported fossil fuels.
KAE is committed to working with the community of Arviat to ensure that the project is developed in a way that is respectful of the environment and the interests of local residents. As part of this commitment, we are conducting this survey to gather your feedback on the proposed project.
Your feedback is important to us. It will help us to make informed decisions about the project, and may influence the location of the projects. We encourage you to take the time to complete this survey and share your thoughts with us.
Survey Purpose
The purpose of this survey is to gather your feedback on the proposed wind, solar and battery energy project in Arviat. Specifically, we are interested in your feedback surrounding:
- Your current knowledge of the projects and how you have been involved up until now
- The proposed locations for the projects
- Your suggestions for how KAE can improve our community engagement process in the future
- Contact information fi you have a cabin within 1km of the proposed site.
