Portland State University Percussion Festival
Join us for the inaugural PSU Percussion Festival!

The 2019 Festival takes place on April 20, 2019 at Lincoln Hall on the PSU Campus. Our featured Guest Clinician is Dr. Colin Hill, Professor of Percussion at Tennessee Tech University. Ensembles in attendance will have an opportunity to perform and receive a clinic from Dr. Hill and PSU Percussion Faculty Dr. Chris Whyte and Dr. Joel Bluestone. Both soloists and ensembles are encouraged to perform and will receive clinic feedback from Dr. Hill.

Time slots will be assigned based on the number of ensembles participating. We will begin at 9am and conclude by 6pm at the latest.

The Festival will also include a 60-minute percussion clinic by Dr. Hill and a performance by the PSU Percussion Ensemble!

Fee to attend is $150 per school. Please submit your fee in order to reserve a performance and clinic slot.

Dr. Colin Hill
Dr. Colin J. Hill currently serves as the Professor of Percussion Studies at Tennessee Tech University. As an active performer, Colin has been invited to perform concerts throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia and performs regularly with the BluHill Percussion Duo, Bryan Symphony Orchestra, and the TTU Faculty Jazz Combo. As an educator, he has appeared as a guest artist and clinician at numerous high schools and universities throughout the United States as well as several PAS Days of Percussion and PAS International Conventions. Colin holds degrees from The University of North Texas (B.M.), Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University (M.M.), and The University of Kentucky (D.M.A) and is a sponsored artist of Innovative Percussion, Grover Pro Percussion, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads, and Pearl/Adams. Colin also currently serves as President of the Tennessee Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society.
