BACKGROUND INFO on MASSAGE, DOH LICENSURE & REGULATION, and LICENSURE COURSE

The World Health Organization classifies Massage Therapists as "Associate Professionals in Physiotherapy" (http://www.who.int/hrh/statistics/Health_workers_classification.pdf).

Philippine law mandates DOH to screen massage practitioners to ensure the safety and health of clients and patients (https://www.facebook.com/419199278115604/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1158622754173249).

DOH regulates massage practice by issuing licenses and managing the development of the Massage Therapy profession in the Philippines (http://www.doh.gov.ph/committee-of-examiners-for-mass-therapy).

DOH accredits massage training institutions to prepare examinees for licensure.
DOH conducts Massage Therapy licensure examinations twice yearly, in June and December.

Hilot at Hilom Pilipinas (HiHiP) is duly accredited by the DOH to train students for LMT examinations. It operates training extensions primarily in the Calabarzon area. Classes are typically held February-May and August-November (www.myhomespa.ph/hihip/lmtcoursepreenroll.html). College degree holders may avail of the Guided Self-Study individual instruction program.

1.  Send your passport photo (with name) to "Parthia Hihip" on Facebook, stating that you have filled out this form.  Then, text "LMT ENROLEE [ your name ]" to Mobile No. 0968.300.6868 and/or Viber No. 0906.222.0064.

2.  The HiHiP coordinator closest to your area will contact you for enrollment OR we may also refer you to another DOH accredited training institution near you.

3.  You are advised to begin collecting your documents - originals - required by the DOH for your application for the licensure exam. Please give priority to your NBI, NSO, and academic documents (college or high school diploma or transcript).
