We know applying for flood relief is tedious, so we aim to make this process simple for applicants by only requiring the details needed for our selection process. 

You do not need to provide any documentation or photos today to complete your application, however, if you are selected as an award recipient by Rebuild Sandy Creek's advisory board, you will be asked to provide documentation to verify the claims and statements in your application.

Total Loss

Examples: collapsed roof and walls, widespread mold that includes structural elements, condemned, complete foundation failure, uninhabitable and irreparable


Major Damage

Examples: significant structural or system damage (electrical, plumbing, HVAC), flooding above electrical outlets, unusable kitchen or bathrooms, mold remediation needed, can be repaired but not currently livable


Moderate Damage

Examples: water damage to flooring and baseboards, drywall or flooring replacement needed, some systems (HVAC/water heater) need repair or replacement, foundation needs minor repairs


Minor Damage

Examples: mostly cosmetic or non-essential issues, damage to non-living areas (detached garage, shed), fencing or driveway damage, patios, decks

(Please keep in mind, Travis County has remapped the floodplain, so new homes and mobiles will need to meet new flood plain elevation requirements, which may be many feet higher, and will likely require flood insurance if you have a loan on your new home.)

If you are selected as an award recipient, you agree to the following:

1) If asked, to provide documentation and verification for the details listed in your application, including but not limited to:
- Identification, proof of ownership, and proof of residence for adults in the household 
- Income verification, like tax returns
- Photos of damage
- Relevant documents, like contractor bids, invoices, insurance policy, payouts or denial details, if applicable

* Failure to provide documents requested by Rebuild Sandy Creek in a timely manner and/or material differences between your application statements and your supporting documents may result in forfeiture of the award. 

2) To allow Rebuild Sandy Creek and their assignees to share information about your story or property for any legitimate business purpose, like fundraising, marketing, and media/press related to Rebuild Sandy Creek. 

3) To allow property access and indemnify and hold harmless anyone acting in good faith on behalf of Rebuild Sandy Creek.

4) Own and live in the home as a primary residence for at least 1 year following the completion of all rebuild and repair projects arranged by or paid for by Rebuild Sandy Creek.
