Clock Hours Qualifying Questions
Most SPU mentor teachers qualify for clock hours. To be able to register for clock hours at no cost, all teachers (new mentors and returning mentors) need to read the two articles below and provide a written reflection. Based on the readings "Ten Things to Know About Student Teachers" and "Feedback Principles" (links are below), write 2-3 intentions you will set in working with your teaching candidate here in the space below. We would also encourage you to print these out and put them in a place where you will regularly see them to check in on these goals. This will be a good springboard for discussion with your candidate through the year as you teach and learn together in your classroom.
NOTE: Completion of these items qualifies you to register for clock hours with a waived fee, but to register you will still need to complete the process that will be emailed to you (along with a registration link) by the placement assistant near the end of your time with your teaching candidate. Refer to our mentor wiki for more information.
