Mt. Airy CDC 6-8 Literacy Community Advisory Prototype Testing at MACDC Supper Session

At Supper Sessions, the 7100 & 7200 blocks of Germantown Avenue are closed to cars, trucks and buses, and Mt. Airy’s historic commercial corridor is opened to the people. 

 Literacy Rich Neighborhood Station will provide books while utilizing this time to engage families in literacy playful learning with the prototyping of the next community installation. The goals of the prototype testing are: to receive feedback on the playful learning components; receive feedback on the aesthetics of the hive a hexagon form engagement & comfort space for reading in our neighborhood story increasing connection to the community. The Literacy Rich Neighborhood Station will be a part of the kids' activities including story time ensure that Supper Sessions is fun for the whole family. In addition to resources tables brick-and-mortar restaurants, and guest food trucks add some rotating variety, local live music, and a DJ set the vibe for the evening.

Parking and Logistics: While the 55 parking spaces in the municipal lot behind Rothe Florists are closed for the event, over 80 spaces in the lot behind the Sedgwick Theater are available—enter off of Chew Avenue. SEPTA’s 23 bus is also rerouted one block east to Chew Avenue.
