NABV 2020 Conference Call for Reviewers
The National Association for Black Veterinarians is pleased to announce its second annual conference. The conference will be hosted Friday, June 12th - Sunday, June 14th at The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in Columbus, OH. This year's conference theme will be“Bridging and Building: Securing the Pipeline and Promoting Advancements in Diversity and Inclusion."
We are currently seeking individuals to serve as reviewers at our second annual conference. If you are a current veterinary medicine professional, and/or current or prospective veterinary medicine student we invite you to complete this google form to submit a proposal.
The National Association for Black Veterinarians invites proposals of innovative, engaging, and substantive sessions that will raise challenging questions, engage participants with practical evidence of “what works,” and create and encourage dialogue to encourage further efforts of diversity and inclusion within the field of veterinary medicine.
We need reviewers to review proposals in the following topic areas:
Mentoring and Student Experiences
Education Funding and Scholarships
Careers in Veterinary Medicine
General Topics to be discussed:
• Recruitment, Admissions, Enrollment
• Climate for Inclusion in Veterinary schools
• Education Programs in pre-vet and vet schools
• Support for Students
• Mentoring w/experiences
• Careers in Veterinary Medicine
• Practice Management and Finance Panel
• Professional Growth
• Wellness and Self Care Panel
Deadline for Proposals: March 15th, 2020
50 minute Power Point Presentation
Presenters will be notified of their status by April 1, 2020
Credentials (PhD, DVM, etc.)
