Brooklynat - Fall 2020
The Arab American Association of NY is a community-based, grassroots organization that has been serving the Bay Ridge community for over 20 years. Every season, we run youth organizing programs to give youth alternative political education with other young change-makers in our community.
Brooklynat is a community organizing group for female-identifying high school students living or attending school in Brooklyn. The fall session of Brooklynat will be led by Rania Lee Khalil, a local artist, therapist, and professor, and focus on histories of anti-colonial resistance & black-led de-carceral movements.
Due to the current public health crisis, youth organizing at AAANY has to look at a little different this year. Our programs will start off virtually and potentially move to have socially distant in-person meetings/projects if it is safe to do so.
Our fall Brooklynat program starts early October and runs for around ten weeks.
