Teacher:

Dr. Pia Tikka, is a filmmaker and EU Mobilitas Research professor at the MEDIT Centre of Excellence, Tallinn University. She holds the honorary title of Adjunct Professor of New Narrative Media at the University of Lapland. She is the founder and principal investigator of NeuroCine research group (2010-). She is a voting member of the Society for Cognitive Studies of the Moving Image and European Film Academy. As a filmmaker, she has directed two full-length feature films, several shprt films and interactive film installations besides working in international film productions worldwide. Tikka is the author of "Enactive Cinema: Simulatorium Eisensteinense” (2008). Currently, she pursues her Estonian Research Council funded research project "Enactive co-presence in narrative virtual reality - a triadic interaction model" at her Enactive Virtuality Lab, Tallinn University. During the fall 2019 she is visiting the Creative Media and Practice Research Cluster, Department of Humanities and Creative Writing, Hong Kong Baptist University.
