LA Abortion Support Collective Interest Form

The Los Angeles Abortion Support Collective (LAASC) is a local volunteer-led-and-run collective providing free emotional, physical, educational, and spiritual support for those seeking abortion care in and traveling to our city. Our collective includes a wide array of abortion doulas from diverse backgrounds to meet the needs of our clients, including people from Los Angeles, BIPOC, queer and trans doulas, Spanish-speakers, Korean-speakers, and more. We ground our work in the values of the Reproductive Justice movement, centering body autonomy and self-determined health care and future for our clients. We continue to intentionally think through the best way to structure our collective and organize our abortion support, and are deeply curious about your dreams, wishes, and desires for what our collective could look like.

By filling out this form, you are officially expressing interest in joining LAASC. As a member of the collective, you make a commitment to:

Our Values
Our collective is based on the principles of reproductive justice,  actively working on employing an anti-racism/anti-oppression framework in the care that we provide and in the way that we operate as a group. We work to dismantle habits of white supremacy in our organizational model and in our relationship with our clients, clinic staff, and, most centrally, each other.

We reject transphobia and homophobia. We are accepting of nontraditional gender expressions, and strive to elevate queer and trans voices and concerns.

Our clients all have different identities and life circumstances that bring them to the clinics we serve, and we believe it is critical that we as a collective reflect our patients.

For these reasons, and many more, we highly encourage folks of color, people from LA, immigrants, folks with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ folks, and multilingual individuals to apply to the collective.
