Thank you for participating in this student survey. The Strengthening Stark effort will be using this information to develop a regional support network that helps more efficiently connect students with local experiential learning opportunities.

EXPLANATION OF TERMS
(1) EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITY: An opportunity to work in an environment where you can apply your academic skills and gain hands-on experience.

(2) EARLY CAREER PLACEMENT: Opportunity for students to begin working full-time while still enrolled in school. These are typically paid opportunities.

(3) INTERNSHIP : Opportunity for students to work 10-15 hours a week while in school. The opportunity will typically last a semester and will entail working a few days a week working on-site at an employer location. Great way to begin developing practical experiences and developing your resume. These opportunities are typically unpaid..

(4) CAREER/JOB SHADOW: Opportunity to spend a short period of time 2-6 hours observing an expert, work in their professional field. Great way to learn the basics about the ‘day in the life’ of a practitioner. This will be an unpaid opportunity.

(5) CAREER EXPO: Opportunity to spend a couple of hours at an event meeting various employers and professionals. Great way to quickly meet multiple businesses, learn about what the businesses do and develop a basic sense for what they are looking for. This is an unpaid opportunity.
