Open letter to the leadership of The San Diego Union-Tribune
My name is Luis Gomez and I am a San Diegan, a long-time journalist, a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, and a Mexican-American. On Wednesday, Aug. 7, I published an op-ed calling for The San Diego Union-Tribune to make more concrete efforts to increase the diversity of its staff, especially its editorial board. In that piece, I also call on the leadership of its editorial board to offer more comfort to the Hispanic and Latinx communities under terror at this moment.
