Is a Two-Tiered Associate Track the way of the Future for Law Firms?
Most of us have read the New York Times article on how firms like Orrick, WilmerHale and McDermott Will & Emery are experimenting with creating positions of "career associates" or "permanent associates" and starting them out at around $60,000 per year.  What are your thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea? Done deal??
