Newspace Center for Photography connects and inspires people by offering an accessible place
to create, learn, and engage in the evolution of the image.

Teaching Assistants (TA’s) provide assistance to Newspace faculty during classes. The work would involve activities such as preparing reference handouts, setting up technical equipment such as lights or chemistry; and in some instances providing learning assistance to students. The Instructor will assign the specific responsibilities for each position. TA’s are required to be present at all sessions of a class. TA's are unpaid volunteers that receive all the same benefits of regular volunteers, including accruing free time to use our photographic and digital imaging facilities and earning free classes.

The Newspace TA Program is intended to provide TA’s with mentorship and teaching experience. Through the guidance of the Instructor–TA’s will have the opportunity to observe classroom management, learn effective teaching practices, and guide student learning.

We typically assign TA positions a month out from the beginning of each term. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
