The National Circular Packaging Committee will organize an expert forum titled "ADVANCING SCIENCE AND REGULATION FOR CIRCULAR PACKAGING," hosted by COP16 at the Green Zone (Area 3) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on December 8, 2024. With the sponsorship of the Vice-Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA), His Excellency Eng. Mansour Hilal Al Mushaiti, the session will take place from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm KSA time and will center around the theme of Science, Technology, and Innovation.

The goal of this session is to provide an evidence-based, scientific, and material-neutral platform to review Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and clarify guidelines and material management for circular packaging. The objectives include supporting the development of policies that encourage packaging neutrality and facilitate a circular economy, explaining the industry's position on sustainable packaging practices and management, and promoting the harmonization of technical packaging regulations across the GCC.
