Sydney Secondary College would like to welcome you to the Instrumental Music Program for 2025!
The Sydney Secondary College Instrumental Music Program (SSC IMP) combines students from each of the three Sydney Secondary College Campuses of Leichhardt, Balmain, and Blackwattle Bay.
Students who play a woodwind, brass, percussion, keyboard, electric bass or electric guitar instrument are invited to join a core WInd Stream ensemble.
Additionaly, students who play saxophone, trumpet, trombone, percussion, keyboard, electric bass or electric guitar are also invited to join an extension Jazz Stream ensemble.
Students who play a string instrument are invited to join a String Stream ensemble. Students in the String Stream also have the opportunity of performing with the Symphony Orchestra which combines students from the Wind and String Streams for special performances through out the year.
Continuing IMP students will select the ensembles they were enroled in as at the end of Term 4, 2024.
Incoming Yr.7 and new students will attend auditions for core and extension ensembles these at the start of Term 1, 2025.
IMP ensembles rehearse once a week before school and all ensembles involve students from multiple campuses who are transported back to their home campus on the College Bus each morning after rehearsal.
We are looking forward to a great year of music, with some amazing opportunities for our students to showcase their talents and skills!
