Volunteers are asked to work a minimum of 10 hours over the course of the festival and positions include greeter, lobby management, ticket taker, survey distribution and lounge staff. Volunteers will receive a complimentary All Access badge to the festival -- volunteers typically work their shifts and can catch films in between. VOLUNTEER POLICYWe believe that our volunteers and staff members are one of the greatest resources to the Hill Country Film Society and Film Festival. Volunteers and staff will work side by side to host the annual festival and uphold our mission to encourage discovery through visual storytelling and we will uphold the following volunteer rights:
-- Volunteers will be treated like coworkers, with the utmost professionalism, courtesy and are not seen as “free” help.-- Volunteers will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on their experiences helping us to provide the best experience for volunteers, guests and staff.-- Volunteers have the right to work in a safe, respectful, and friendly environment.-- Volunteers have a right to work in an environment that supports and encourages diversity. -- We are committed to providing effective channels of communication for feedback and effective and efficient conflict resolution for all volunteers and staff.
We ask that volunteers:-- Treat festival guests, staff and other volunteers professionally, courteously and respectfully.-- Provide service to the best of their ability and act in the best interest of our guests.-- Exercise reasonable care for the Fritztown Cinema venue and other festival event spaces.-- Follow the policies and procedures designated by the Hill Country Film Society.
Volunteers agree to the following:-- Volunteers must give notice if unable to uphold their commitment.-- Volunteers must not have in their possession illegal substances, firearms or open alcohol during their volunteer shift. -- Worker’s Compensation is not provided for volunteers. -- Volunteers are responsible for the safety of their own personal property – we have limited space to store bags at registration and recommend that you leave valuables/large bags at home.
