Climate Change AI Volunteer Matching

Do you need help with machine learning on a climate-related project? Do you represent an NGO or academic lab? If so, Climate Change AI (CCAI) wants to help!

CCAI is setting up a platform to match NGOs and academic labs who need help with machine learning (ML) implementations for climate-related projects with ML practitioners (volunteers) who are eager to use their skills to tackle climate change.

These volunteers may include ML practitioners in industry, scientists with an ML background, or ML students.

How it works:

1. Please fill out this questionnaire.

2. After assessing your project proposal, we will distribute a call for applications through our channels.

3. Volunteers can then apply to work on your project. You will select the most suitable candidate. At this point we do not offer any prescreening of the candidates.

For a quick overview, see the steps from proposal to project execution visualized below. Project requirements:
  • 1 volunteer per project
  • < 20 hours total commitment
  • Project needs to have clear pathway to climate impact
