StarLab request form
To support schools in accelerating student interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, the WCPS StarLab (portable planetarium), accompanied by Chris Kopco, may be available for school use. It is up to each building to have a general plan for their StarLab use (which the staff will work with schools to refine). The StarLab should be used purposefully and strategically as part of the instructional program.
The StarLab capacity is about one class (approx. 30 students) at a time and requires a clean floor and a space that is at least 18ft square with high ceilings. The duration of time that students are in the StarLab is dependent upon how each school decides to utilize this resource.
Classroom teachers or staff must be present with the students during StarLab activities.
