SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE ON SCHIZOPHRENIA
SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE
We, Ankan Ghosh, Bharat Kumar S, Mehvish Khamar and Melvin P H are students of 3rd year sixth semester architecture, studying at School of Architecture, REVA University, Bangalore.
As part of Architectural Research Writing Coursework, we are keen to investigate the psychology of interior spaces in architecture to help those who suffer from schizophrenia. Our aim is to bring clarity to the relationship between designers and those that require a different level of understanding in terms of the spaces they need. Such spaces require different aspects of the sensorial elements, which can produce a calmer environment for a schizophrenic patient. Through this research, we would like to create a rendition of a space that would serve as a template in the creation of such spaces in India.
Researchers have made significant contributions in the understanding of this riddle called schizophrenia. Notable contributions have been made in the field of epidemiology, course and outcomes and phenomenology of this disorder. However, research in psycho-social rehabilitation of schizophrenia and related areas is sparse, sporadic and considered as a taboo in our country.
The need to conduct research that impacts health policies and planning of services for this disorder is evident through our literary research. To justify, it is important to design user-centric spaces. Through this Survey we would like to assess that need and importance through professional opinions to be able to come to conclusions for the physical considerations required. Therefore, we would appreciate your time in answering the following Survey Questions, that help in doing this small research work.
