Facilities: The monastery will provide rooms for students and staff. We have two fully equipped buildings available for guests. Meals will be provided in the main building.
Preparation: Applicants are encouraged to prepare themselves spiritually for this event by praying for God’s direction and blessing. They are encouraged to prepare themselves psychologically by going on a voluntary “media fast” one week prior to the school. Internet access will not be available during the school. Applicants are encouraged to come with an attitude of wanting to learn and be challenged. They are encouraged to come with an “ear to hear” what God’s will is for their life.
What to bring: Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, comb/brush, sunscreen, flashlight, water bottle, Bible, change of clothes including long pants (to work in), sweater, jacket, work shoes/boots. A cap and long-sleeve T or work shirts for sun protection are recommended. The weather in Manton in June is moderate but, since we are at 3,000 feet, you can expect the nights to be cool and the days to be warm to hot. All clothing is assumed to be modest and appropriate to an Orthodox Christian witness. No “electronic devices” (ipods, mp3s, iphones, etc).
