The Octavia Diamond Ocean Scholarship Application
In memory of our founder, Octavia D. Ocean, Beat the ‘Betes, Inc. presents a scholarship awarded to an undergraduate scholar who intends to make a positive impact on this world. The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled in a four year college, must have a GPA 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and 2 letters of recommendations attesting to their leadership skills. Tapping into your creativity, tell us how you plan to impact this world in a positive, effective way. This should be done by video (2-5 minutes long), Youtube, essay (1 - 3 pages, double spaced 12font) or blog post. The recipient will be the most innovative submission.

Letters of recommendation can be sent by the writer via email with the subject, "Scholarship LOR: [Last Name], [First Name]."

Essays are to be sent via email to with subject as "Scholarship Essay: [Last Name],[First Name]."

Send video submissions via email to with subject as "Scholarship Video: [Last Name], [First Name]", after completing the application below. For Youtube posts, place the link of your uploaded video post in an email with subject as "Scholarship Video: [Last Name], [First Name]”.
