Funding Nomination Form for TAP HLPF Representatives
The TAP Network will help fund two representatives from organizations from the "global south" (non-OECD countries) to participate in the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) from 11-20 July, 2016.
TAP will provide travel subsidies of up to $1,500 towards the cost of these two Members' travel for the HLPF. This was done to ensure an equitable distribution of funding to all colleagues, and to ensure that adequate funding is provided for future opportunities beyond this. However, it is important to keep in mind that since this TAP funding might not cover the full costs of travel, these representatives may need to cover additional costs beyond the $1,500 provided by TAP, and these representatives must be prepared to cover these additional costs.
The following criteria must be met by the nominee, inter alia:
• Work for an organization based in a country from the "global south" (non-OECD countries)
• Extensive expertise in the relevant subjects that will be discussed at the HLPF, particularly including issues of accountability and monitoring of sustainable development and Goal 16 issues at the national level.
• High level of engagement in previous TAP Network work around the HLPF and work around follow-up and review and accountability.
• Willingness to represent and undertake advocacy on behalf of the TAP Network and provide additional support for TAP’s work at the HLPF, as necessary.
While at the HLPF, it is envisioned that these TAP Network representatives will:
1) coordinate and liaise with TAP members in New York around the HLPF
2) undertake advocacy and outreach around HLPF,
3) help take notes and track meetings for TAP use,
4) be available to represent and speak for TAP at various HLPF evnts, including official meetings or other TAP-hosted side-events or workshops
5) undertake follow-up advocacy and outreach from IAEG-SDGs meeting
DEADLINE FOR TAP NOMINATIONS: Midnight (NY time), Tuesday, 21 June
The TAP Network Steering Committee will take a decision on who these TAP Network Representative will be, based on the above criteria, and will also take into consideration gender and geographical balance, and past engagement or selection for TAP representation at various opportunities.
