IIDA Oregon Board of Directors Nomination Form
We are seeking passionate, engaged candidates to volunteer and serve on the IIDA Oregon Chapter Board of Directors for the upcoming board year (July 2026 – July 2027).

Serving on the board is an opportunity to shape the future of our chapter, strengthen our design community, and elevate the profession across Oregon.

Who Should Apply

We actively welcome voices from across the industry, including (but not limited to):

  • Interior designers
  • Sales representatives
  • Firm leaders and small business owners
  • Students and emerging professionals
  • Allied industry partners

Each year, we are proud to welcome back returning board members while also bringing in new voices and perspectives. A diversity of experiences, backgrounds, and viewpoints is vital to our mission and the strength of our chapter.

Nomination & Selection Process

Our board nomination process is intentionally thoughtful and relationship-driven:

  • After submitting this form, candidates may be invited to participate in 1:1 conversations with current board members or Past President
  • These conversations are an opportunity to share your interests, learn more about board roles, and explore where you might best contribute
  • Final board selections are made with the goal of building a balanced, representative, and effective leadership team
Commitment & Requirements
  • Active IIDA Membership is required to serve on the Board
  • Membership must be maintained for the full board term (July 1, 2026 – July 1, 2027)
  • Board service runs on a July – July cycle, while IIDA membership is renewed annually

The IIDA Oregon Chapter strengthens the interior design community by fostering connection, cultivating belonging, and advancing professional recognition and career growth. We champion the vital role of interior design in shaping the built environment and its positive impact on the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and communities.

Please note that this is a working board. We encourage you to apply if you’re interested, and ask that you do so with consideration of your current time and capacity to actively contribute.

IIDA Oregon Chapter Board Positions

The IIDA Oregon Chapter Board is made up of several committees, each focused on supporting our members and advancing our mission in different ways. Please note: Current board members may choose to continue for an additional term, so available roles will vary annually based on returning leadership and chapter needs. 

Finance
Oversees and guides the chapter’s financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.

Sponsorship
A foundational team responsible for sponsor outreach, relationship management, and ongoing partner support.

Communications
Leads the chapter’s voice and visibility, including website content, social media, and the weekly newsletter.

Membership
Focuses on member engagement and experience, including social events and serving as a resource for membership-related questions. 

Student Affairs
Supports students and emerging professionals through outreach, programming, and partnerships with local schools.

Professional Development
Creates opportunities for learning and growth through events such as Forums and other events. 

Social Justice
Advances initiatives and resources centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within our chapter and the broader design community.

Term Lengths

  • VP positions: 2-year terms
  • Director positions: 1-year terms
