International House Host Family Program: Resident Application
Dear I-House Resident,

Welcome to the UC Berkeley International House! To help ease your transition into the US culture, we have created (in partnership with participating Host Families from the Bay Area) the International House Host Family Program! This is a unique opportunity to meet American families, make new friends and create beautiful memories.

The Host Family Program connects you to an American family for casual daytime and/or evening socializing. The time commitment is determined by you and your hosts. Overnight stays are not typically part of the hosting experience. Your host may invite you for meals, outings, mini trips and festivities. The goal for you and your host family is to get acquainted with a new culture, enjoy conversation and learn from each other in the International House spirit.

To best match you with your family, please fill out the following to tell us about yourself and your interests. We will do our best to match you according to your interests listed. All information will remain confidential and will be used only for matching purposes. We look forward to connecting you with one of many (often returning) hosts!

For any questions or concerns, please contact Gemma Givens at or 510-642-9490
