As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Congressman Nick Langworthy is proud to recognize the individuals who make Western New York and the Southern Tier stronger through service, leadership, and dedication to others. The NY-23 America 250 Community Heroes Award honors outstanding community members whose contributions embody the values that have defined our nation for 250 years. Residents across New York’s 23rd Congressional District are invited to nominate local heroes who have made a meaningful impact in their communities.

Nominees must reside in or have demonstrated significant service within New York’s 23rd Congressional District. Individuals may be nominated for contributions in areas including healthcare, veterans and military service, first response, education, coaching and mentoring, volunteerism, nonprofit leadership, civic engagement, and community service. Nominees should demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, integrity, and a lasting positive impact on their communities.

All nominations will be reviewed by a committee organized by Congressman Langworthy’s office. Nominees will be evaluated based on their community impact, leadership, service to others, integrity, character, and embodiment of the values that have helped define America over the past 250 years. Honorees will be selected from communities throughout New York’s 23rd Congressional District to ensure broad representation across the region.

Selected honorees will be recognized during a series of public ceremonies held across Western New York and the Southern Tier in August 2026. Ceremonies will take place in multiple communities throughout the district, providing an opportunity for family members, friends, and local leaders to celebrate the contributions of these remarkable individuals. Honorees will receive a Congressional Certificate of Recognition and be featured through congressional communications and community outreach efforts as part of the America 250 celebration.
