At New Community, one of the ways we live into our mission to be a reconciled and reconciling people is to participate in the work of the church on a ministry team. Starting this fall, we are transitioning to Serving as Formation, a model that intentionally connects the ways we serve the church with our formation as followers of Jesus.

Our Ministry Kickoff/Training will be held on Sunday, August 24, immediately after church until 2:30pm. Lunch will be provided.

What ministries teams are you interested in serving with?

Kid’s City: Equip children and youth with the tools to love God, love others, and love themselves as they continue to develop as children into adulthood. Serve as a teacher or assistant with students birth-5th grade

Set Up/Tear Down: Prepare our sacred space for Sunday worship by consistently setting up our sanctuary and kids city classroom so all our Sunday morning ministries can flourish.

Hospitality: Welcomes God’s people into the worship service by greeting everyone coming into our space, checking them in and proactively responding to needs or questions.

Sound:Ensure our audio systems work at their optimal levels so that our congregation can receive God’s spoken word and musical worship clearly and beautifully. Musical or tech experience welcome, but not necessary.

Security: Be a caring, calming presence while maintaining a safe environment and ensure the safety of those who come through the building.

Worship (vocalist needed): Using our musical talents to create space in worship to experience the truths of the gospel each week, demonstrate a culture of grace that seeks excellence but not perfection, and brings together different worship styles that reflects our congregation and community

Prayer:Grow together in listening well to God and discern what God is doing by praying for and with others. Offer prayer on Sunday morning and intentionally throughout the week

Potluck: Help create a warm, welcoming atmosphere at our monthly church potlucks through setup, cleanup, and hospitality.
