Pathway’s to Right-of-Way’s Pedestrian specialty license plate campaign.

Pathway’s is a California non-profit 501(c) organization looking to execute a pedestrian oriented specialty license plate for motor related vehicles (cars, motorcycles, scooters etc…) located within the State of California. The specialty plate will allow automobile owners to show support for walk and walk related safety on their motor vehicles. Whether you live in a city or a small town, and whether you drive a car, take a bus or ride a train, at some point in the day or time, EVERYONE IS A PEDESTRIAN!. This will also allow for millions of dollars for programs to make pedestrian safety better for the State and our communities. Please help us make this possible with feedback to this survey:

Here is a prototype of the specialty plate design that conforms with current rules. (but may have a different logo/picture on the left, and a slogan chosen by you).

What to do to make this happen.

To start a specialty plate program like a pedestrian themed one, the initial fee to order the plate cost $50 (for 6 sequential characters) or $98 (for 6 personalized characters) and annual renewal costs are $35 (sequential) or $73 (personalized). The initial fees are collected by the organizer (Pathway’s to Right-of-Way’s) before the plates are available and are used to fund the DMV to implement the specialty license plate program. The annual renewal fees are dedicated to one of the education programs highlighted in the first question of this survey. To implement the program, 7,500 plates must be pre-ordered within 12 months. If the pre-order quota is not fulfilled, all dollars will be returned.
