Volunteer to Support SSEF Efforts

It takes many volunteers to execute our community events, such as our STEAM Showcase in March, Lightning Run in October, Summer Book Club parties in June and July and electronic recycling events twice a year. We are looking for volunteers to help us with one-time projects (such as helping on the day of an event) as well as committee participation, which might involve monthly meetings and various tasks leading up to events.

Mentoring, Tutoring, Literacy and other Direct Student Contact Volunteer Roles

Training is provided for all ongoing volunteer roles.

Reading Buddies meet in person during the school day once a week for 30 minutes with an elementary student to foster a love of reading.
Tutor Teams volunteers tutor elementary school students after school once a week for an hour virtually over Microsoft Teams.
SAIL (Riverwood HS) and Senior Push (North Springs HS) Mentors work with high school seniors to help them make post-graduation plans including researching and applying to colleges, technical schools, certification programs, or other opportunities.
