CAFN Volunteer Expectations
CAFN volunteers commit to transforming the food system in the capital area and greater Wake County into an economically viable, sustainable, and equitable system by identifying opportunities and advocating for policy change to support improvements.

Volunteers commit to respectfully engage diverse stakeholders within the community and seek to understand their concerns. They work in the public interest for the benefit of the food system, rather than directly representing any organization with which they are affiliated.

This commitment is typically demonstrated through serving on one or more working groups (called circles) that exist to focus on a specific area of the local food system (see examples below).

CAFN volunteers live or work in Wake County and support the organization without compensation.
