AMEL Online Institute Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the Institute of the African Middle Eastern Leadership Project (AMEL). The AMEL Institute is a fully online academy that will provide training to local activists (18-35 years old) all over the Middle East and Africa (MEA). The goal of the Institute is to empower young people who are taking action to address human rights violations, inequalities, injustices, discrimination, conflicts or other issues affecting their communities. AMEL aims to help make these efforts more effective and sustainable by providing practical knowledge, skills and networks to the activists who are leading them.

In preparation for the launch of the full Institute (covering topics including human rights, genocide prevention, civic leadership, peace & conflict, new media & more in partnership with the world's top universities, experts, activists and institutions), a select group will be chosen to participate in the Pilot Program. Selected young leaders and civil society activists from all across the MEA region will engage in online training between January and April 2019. The pilot program will include interactive sessions in human rights, activism safety, and genocide/Holocaust education and prevention. The format of the pilot program will be online video lectures, discussions and assignments that will be spread across 12 weeks with an estimated time commitment of approximately 2-4 hours per week. Participants who complete the Pilot Program will be given a certificate of completion and priority enrollment for subsequent AMEL Institute programs as well as the chance to apply for workshops and other opportunities.

If you would like to apply to the AMEL Institute, please fill out the application below. If you have questions, or would like to be involved in any other way, please email us at info@amelproject.org.

Deadline to submit applications for the Pilot Program: extended until December 4th. NOTE, FOR ISRAELI AND PALESTINIAN APPLICANTS, WE WILL BE ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS THROUGH DECEMBER 13, 2018.
