- citing various life-related reasons (whether it be school or other work commitments as most of our contributors were in their early 20s), our staff now only comprises one writer/editor- given that we only have one writer/editor, our focus has shifted to something more manageable, moving away from just general video game news and putting an emphasis on "gaming as an experience" -- that is, focusing on in-game topics like lore, quest and feature/mechanic analysis, and music, as well as out-of-game topics like gamification, what it's like working in the industry, and writing opinions on what's happening in the world of gaming- we no longer have a community TeamSpeak server (though if there is a demand, we may revisit starting a VOIP server through Discord)- to follow the speed of the industry and consistent post-release game updates, we've begun to have evolving game reviews that re-examine games every tenth of a version (i.e. 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, etc.), creating reviews that also track a developer's support patterns.
Despite the downsizing, we're now much better consolidated and organized and feel that we have a better idea of the niche we would like to fill. In turn, that'll give us a better unique identity outside of the already oversaturated realm of games journalism. Still, there's always room for improvement and that's where your feedback comes in.
Over the next 5-10 minutes, you'll answer some questions dealing with demographics, your interests, and some of your opinions about the site overall. While we can't promise we'll implement every suggestion we're given, we do appreciate gathering your feedback so we can improve the experience and quality of the site itself.
As always, thank you for your continued support and interest in Start 2 Continue. Naturally, we hope this year can be even better than the last!
