The Greater Vancouver Zone (GVZ) proudly provides volunteer patrol services at the following mountains:

๐Ÿ•๏ธ Sasquatch Mountain

Please note:ย ๐Ÿšซ We do not patrol at Whistler or Grouse Mountain.

If you're looking to join patrol at those resorts, we recommend reaching out to their respective organizations directly.

Weโ€™re a passionate group of volunteers who provide safety and first aid services at ski hills across our Zone. Whether you're a seasoned skier or just love giving back to your mountain community, there's a place for you here. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿ•’ Time Commitment

Being a patroller is a rewarding experience, but it also comes with a significant time commitment, especially during your first year of training.

Hereโ€™s a general breakdown of the commitment:

Mt. Seymour & Cypress Mountain: 1 full day every 2 weeks

Manning Park & Sasquatch Mountain: 1 full weekend every 2 weeks

๐Ÿ“š First Aid Training โ€“ Fall Schedule (Sample)

All new candidates must complete our comprehensive First Aid training, even if you have previous experience.

๐Ÿฉบ Are you a medical professional (e.g. EMR, nurse, doctor)? We offer a modified course just for you!

Training weekends (tentative):

First Aid Weekend #1 โ€“ September

First Aid Weekend #2 โ€“ September

First Aid Weekend #3 โ€“ September

First Aid Weekend #4 โ€“ October

Exams + Diagnostics โ€“ October

๐ŸŽฟ On-Snow Training

Once the hills open, youโ€™ll also participate in:

2 full weekends of on-snow training at your assigned mountain โ›ท๏ธ

โ›” Due to the fast-paced nature of training, full attendance is mandatory. Please plan accordingly!
