Volunteer for Science in the Park
Science in the Park is an annual science festival held in Wollaton Hall as part of National Science and Engineering Week. We expect a few thousand visitors on the day.
We need volunteers to help out on the day and a few people to help in the run up to the event.

On the day, volunteers will help out with exhibits, direct visitors, help set up and take down the displays and generally create an enthusiastic atmosphere. Volunteers will be rotated around different jobs through the day. You will receive information before the day and an induction on the day.

We also need a few volunteers to help with distributing flyers a week or so beforehand and with setting up on the day before.

You will be needed on Saturday 18th March. The event is 11.00am -4.00pm Volunteers are required 9.30am-5.00pm. You can do a full day or just part of the day (you will be asked to specify beforehand)
A few volunteers may be required for Friday 17th, for a couple of hours in the afternoon, exact time to be confirmed (you can indicate possible availability for this later on).

To make this years Science in the Park work we need volunteers to help out on the day. We need people to help guide people around the day, talk to our visitors, help out with exhibits (full training given) and generally make the day great. If you think you can help, please fill in the form below. We'll be in touch with more details nearer the time. All volunteers will also need to fill in a volunteer form from the national British Science Association before the event (we'll send you details of this too). We also won't pass on this information to anyone outside the nottsBSA.

If you are accepted as a volunteer you will be given full training. You will have a chance to see some areas of the Hall that are not normally open to the public. We will provide refreshments (although not lunch) and have a chance to look around the exhibits and meet the exhibitors. We can sign off your hours for all relevant volunteering schemes.

Science in the park runs from 11-4. We will need volunteers to help set up, from 9.30 and to take down, until 5pm. Obviously, we don't expect everyone to do the whole day, but we need as many people as possible. Please indicate below when you are available, thank you.
We also need volunteers to help set up the day before. This will involve moving chairs and setting things up. It won't involve any science or any public, but it is essential for the event. If you think you can help with this, let us know here. We'll be in touch to arrange a convenient time for as many people as possible.
Activities. We have a range of roles on the day. We will try our hardest match people with their preferred roles, but we can't promise anything
This year we are bringing in something new: specialised tours for a few groups. These will take place in the morning (10.30-11.30) and we are looking for people with the specific skills below. Please tick relevant box
Is there anything else we need to know?
For example this might be a particular interest, previous experience, any first aid experience, any access requirements you have.....

It is essential that you read, and sign, the British Science Association Volunteer policy before volunteering. This can be found at http://www.britishscienceassociation.org/volunteering-policies-and-information and paper copies will be available on the day. Please indicate if you have signed this online, or wish to sign it on the day.
To sign online, follow the link above, click on the Volunteer Policy link, read it, and then complete the short form at the bottom. If you have signed it before, you do not need to sign again.
