The Israel Engagement Internship will give students the opportunity to build relationships with other Jewish students on campus through direct, one-on-one engagement. Our Israel Engagement Intern will also coordinate a team of other Birthright Israel recruiters on campus to strategize.
Some of the other responsibilities of the Israel Engagement intern team will be:-Recruit students to sign up for Mizzou Hillel's Birthright Israel bus.-Promoting Birthright Israel on social media as well in person. -Occasionally table on campus to spread the word about Birthright Israel and other Israel programs and initiatives.-Take students out for free coffee, to get to know them and learn how to connect them to Israel and other areas in Judaism. -Work with Hillel staff and partner organizations to develop Israel programming on campus.-Create new initiatives or programs inspired by interests of students. Some examples could be an Israel-themed Shabbat dinner, a Tu Bshvat celebration, a discussion on current events, an Israeli movie night, etc. -Attending the weekly intern cohort training sessions with Joel Finkelstein, the Program and Engagement Associate.
Our Israel Engagement Intern is required to undergo training to learn how to best reach students on campus. Interns are also required to participate in an immersive Jewish experience (such as a Hillel or an Israel organization's conference).
*Please Note: We will be accepting applications from students that have been on Birthright Israel previously or from students that plan to go with us in December 2018.
**APPLICATIONS CLOSE WEDNESDAY 8/29 AT 5PM. Be sure to submit your application as soon as possible!
