Leaders Igniting Transformation High School Fellowship Application
Description: LIT seeks dynamic, self-starting individuals to assist building and sustaining High School chapters.

This fellowship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of team building, community organizing, and communications that would help build your resume and professional development. This position is ideal for a junior or senior in high school, or mature underclass student.

Responsibilities:

Recruit and develop new student leaders
Host weekly organizing meetings at your school
Advance the issue campaigns of LIT
Assist in planning, writing, and managing monthly email blast
Design flyers, graphics, e-vites, and other marketing material for major events
Help maintain and grow the youth voice on digital media platforms
Attending organizing meetings to stay updated on the organization's work
Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and values for marketing and communications
Assist youth organizer in the development of your school LIT chapter
Act as brand ambassadors at public events

Qualifications:

Self-motivated, good organizational skills, details oriented, ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines
Enthusiasm for the mission of LIT
An effective communicator, both written and oral
Willingness to learn new tools
Must have reliable methods of communication and transportation

Compensation: $300 per month (5 hours/week)
*Note: Hours may vary by week


LIT Fellow Expectations/Agreements:

Weekly check-ins with your supervisor (Youth Organizer)
Set agenda for and help facilitate weekly meetings
Actively recruit members at your school and have one on ones
Attend leadership trainings facilitated by LIT’s Program Coordinator
Assist in the leadership development of members
Assist Program Coordinator with the planning and execution of Black Hogwarts
Arrive to meetings, events, etc on a timely manner
Communicate with organizer when problems arise
Work with other fellows on a variety of projects
