Volunteering is a great way to support St. Peter's School and get involved in the school community. The events supported by parent volunteers raise money each year to support the St. Peter's School Scholar Fund, Faculty Professional Development, and other important school initiatives. Volunteering at St. Peter's is a highly rewarding experience. Any amount of time and effort is greatly appreciated and really makes a difference. Please join us!

After-school care is offered to you free of charge while you are volunteering during normal ASCP hours (from dismissal-6 pm on regular school days).

Parents' Association Secretary:Duties include to take minutes at (6) Parents’ Association meetings and to submit a typed version to the PA Presidents 2-3 days after the meeting.
Class Parent:Class parents work closely with classroom teachers and their students. Duties include organizing creative class-wide projects, coordinating teacher appreciation, communicating information to classroom parents via emails and answers to questions, and collecting and keeping track of donations given by classroom families to cover projects during the school year. Class Parents should expect to attend monthly PA meetings both to share pertinent information with their class families and to raise any topical issues at meetings.
School Pictures: October 3 & 4: During these two days, personal portraits and class photos are taken. Two hour shifts may include combing hair, cajoling smiles, walking some students to and from class to photo sessions.
Harvest Festival: October 13 (Raindate October 14): This fall fair includes games, entertainment, food, and prizes. Funds raised benefit St. Peter's School. Volunteer duties: craft table, games, providing food for the festival, food sales, set-up, and clean-up.
Pizza Lunch: Every Friday: Weekly Pizza Lunch is a much-loved tradition that supports the school. Volunteers bring grateful smiles to the students' faces! Volunteer duties: Help collect and organize forms and money, and help distribute pizza to classrooms. Time commitment is estimated to be between 30 mins-2 hrs/week.
Parent Ambassadors: Volunteers are needed to meet and greet visitors during Open House events, and to act as hosts for new students and their families joining the school each year. Mentors provide introductions, personal invitations to school events, and are available to answer questions. Volunteer duties: Answering Questions, Contacting New and Prospective Parents, Supporting Admissions Events on an as-needed/infrequent basis.
Holiday Hooray (formally known as the Holiday Sale): December 1 & 2: Funds from this sale raised benefit the St. Peter's School Scholar Fund. Trees, greens, beautiful wreaths, plants and holiday gifts are sold. Volunteer duties: Assembling Wreaths (during a selected weeknight at school), Lifting and Handling Trees (includes using a chainsaw), Selling Greens, and Selling Gifts. Strong tree lifters are especially needed.
Scholastic Book Fair: November 27 - December 2: Leading up to the Holiday Hooray, all students and parents will have an opportunity to visit the book fair in the theatre the week of November 27. Every student will get a chance to shop during school hours and after school with their parents. This is a perfect time to stock up on book for the holidays while getting your child excited about reading. Proceeds will help benefit the Phase 2 redesign of the Blum Library and (TAP) Teacher Appreciation Fund.Volunteer duties: Staff book fair, assist students, handle payment transactions and assist in restocking product. Time commitment is estimated to be between 1-2 hour shifts per day.
SPS Auction: April 20: The Spring Auction is St. Peter's biggest fundraiser and the event of the year! Parents, faculty, and staff gather in a festive setting to celebrate the school year and participate in exciting live and silent auctions. Funds raised are directed toward Faculty Professional Development and a targeted project. Volunteer duties: Event planning, Class Projects, Invitations (Stuffing/Labeling), Soliciting Corporate Sponsors, Solicitation of Items to be Donated, Set-Up, and Break-Down of Displays.
Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon: We show the school faculty and staff our immense gratitude during this "Appreciation Luncheon." Volunteer duties: Food Preparation, Decoration, Set-Up and Clean-Up.
School Community Service - Ongoing: Volunteers coordinate a variety of community service projects to introduce students to volunteer service and provide opportunities for personal growth. Volunteers are needed to be project leaders, planners, and chaperones. Please let us know if you have any ideas! Project dates and times vary.
Sharing an Interesting Hobby, Career, or Craft with Students- Ongoing: Do you have an interesting career or hobby that you would be willing to share with students? Do you know of an education craft project that you would be willing to teach? Please let us know!
