Thank you for your interest in volunteering with James Project. We are a student-led group that volunteers at partner organizations within the community every Saturday morning as a way of serving others for Christ. It is a great opportunity to serve our neighbors while making friends and building community with fellow students.
Please register before Wed. at midnight so we can let our partners know how many volunteers to expect. Before each project, I will send out a reminder email/text that will also include any specific details for that Saturday. Please commit to what you sign up for to be respectful to our project partners. If you cancel after Wed. at midnight or no show, three times, you will no longer be able to sign up for James Project.
This form will be updated weekly.
Each Saturday we will meet in the SpIL house (Barclay house) at the specified time. From there we will drive together to the location.
Transportation, snacks, gloves, and all supplies for the project will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing (closed-toed shoes, clothes you aren't afraid to get dirty, and rain jacket/warm clothes if needed) and bring water.
Chehalem Rehab Center- helping with projects to clean up and restore their building (cleaning/organizing/painting/washing equipment) and visiting with residents
The wood Ministry- using hydraulic splitters to split wood, wheelbarrowing the wood, and stacking it.
5 Rock- varies. May be splitting wood, doing yard work (raking, weeding), organizing, cleaning, etc. Lunch included
Providence Community Connections- doing yard work for elderly or disabled people
Habitat for Humanity Restore also needs 2 or 3 people a week to help organize the store, receive donations, and load purchases into customers' cars. If interested in this, please email for more information
