The Leaders in Training Program (LIT) extensively trains and supports youth looking to grow both their leadership skills working with others and children, and also develop self-confidence and life skills in a workplace. Participants will attend training sessions in professionalism, child development, leadership and workplace skills throughout their time in the program, with various opportunities to practise and be mentored in applying these skills and more. Participants will work alongside our Child Care Leaders to both observe and practise a range of skill from leading activities, working with young children, and maintaining equipment and space. They will receive opportunities for guidance, activity planning, team meetings, self-reflection and evaluations. During their time in the program, participants will need to maintain an accurate and organized record of their notes, hours and activity planning -further developing their work place and independence skills. Upon successful completion of all LIT aspects of the program, participants will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to register in the LEAD program.
