You are invited to participate in a web-based online survey regarding measuring the correlation of parenting styles and involvement on high school student stress levels. It should take approximately 12 minutes to complete.
KEY INFORMATION
This study is affiliated with AP Research, a class aimed to teach high school students the research process which includes: choosing a topic, completing a literature review on a topic, finding a research gap based on current literature in a given field, developing a proper methodology, facilitating research, and analyzing data and drawing conclusions based on the data collected. The purpose of this particular study is to determine the correlation of parenting style and parent involvement on high school student stress levels. Your participation in this study is greatly appreciated.
PARTICIPATION
This study is completely survey-based. All that is required from the participant is a completed survey based on accurate information of you/your family member. It is also important to observe that participation in this survey is not required and can be ended at any time. Examples of survey questions are listed below.
- My parent is involved in my activities and regularly checks in on how I'm doing.
- I feel stressed when I have to take a test.
BENEFITS
Although there are no direct benefits to participants to this study, the significance of this research lies in adding to the existing research for the impact of parenting styles/involvement on high school student’s stress levels. Participation in this study also benefits the student researcher in understanding the research process itself and its importance in personal academic advancement.
RISKS
There are no major risks of participating in this study.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Your survey answers will be sent to the email of the researcher where data will be stored in a password-protected electronic format. The Google Form does not collect identifying information such as your name, email address, or IP address. Therefore, your responses will remain anonymous. No one will be able to identify you or your answers, and no one will know whether or not you participated in the study.
