Move Up Night - May 25, 2017
We look forward to seeing you on May 25th for our 3rd Annual Move Up Night! Please read the following guidelines carefully and complete the registration form below.

• Each parent/guardian should complete their own registration so we have an accurate count of attendees per session.

• All grade level teams and cluster teachers (i.e. science, gym, etc.) will be presenting the same material during each scheduled session. Please register for only one session per grade level/cluster.

• Each session will include a 15-minute period to tour classrooms.

Description of Sessions

Pre-K-5th Grade: Take the opportunity to meet with the current grade level teachers to get a preview of your child's upcoming school year.

Art/Science: Join Pamela and Kristine as they explore the enduring relationship between art and science. Parents are invited to a hands-on workshop exploring how their children develop curiosity through observations in both these content areas. This session will meet in the science lab. (4th floor)

Gym: Michael will lead parents in a sample physical education class, including exercise circuits, jump rope games and a tag game. Attendees should wear sneakers and prepare to sweat. This session will meet in the climbing yard or café, depending on weather.

Music: Join Lisa for a discussion about creating good practice habits for instrumental music. There will be a hands-on demonstration and parents will learn about recorder playing first hand. This session will meet in the music room (4th floor).

Technology: Steven will present Internet safety tips using Common Sense Media and show parents how they can utilize the site to review apps, have discussions and use other social media that their children engage in. Steven will also be discussing issues of cyber bullying, solutions and strategies. This session will meet in room 306.

Special Education: The special education team will present information related to special education programs and services as well as at-risk intervention services. This session will meet in room 506.

To complement the evening, a Parent Leader/Volunteer Information Fair will be held in the MNS Cafe where parents can meet with members of the current PTA's Executive Board and Committee Chairs and the School Leadership Team to learn about the exciting opportunities to become parent leaders and volunteers in the upcoming school year.
