    Availibility

    Please check all shifts that would work best for you each week. All volunteers are asked to work a minimum of 3 hours each week. If you cannot work a regular weekly shift, you are welcome to be on our call list for fill-ins or pick up shifts as your schedule allows.

    Committee Descriptions

    The purpose of the different Cooperative committees is for the Cooperative Members to contribute and be involved in ways which best suit their varied skills and talents. The different committees and their tasks areas follows: Membership/Human Resources: To build and manage the Co-ops membership base and establish and maintain a line of communication between members, the Board, and the community by: maintaining a membership database; developing and maintaining new member's packet/ information about membership; updating and maintaining access to membership brochures; coordinating membership recruitment opportunities; coordinating all member mailings; maintaining communication between members and the co-op staff and Board; communicating member's suggestions and feedback to the correct committees and/or the Board or Directions. Volunteer/Workers Collective: To organize volunteers and co-op workers in an workers in an orderly, effective manner by: working out schedules for effective volunteer coverage in the shop; anticipating needed changes in staffing and making proposals to the Board concerrning these needs; coordinating with Finance committee regarding budget and equipment needs; maintaining records and standards for volunteers; developing effective problem-solving procedures for volunteers; training new volunteers in their responsibilities. Finance: To maintain and support the co-op in financial matters by: managing deposits, change and the check book; coordinating with accountant; developing monthly operating budget and budget projections; reviewing trends and preparing for fluctuation; authorization substantial purchases after review of proposals; attending to membership costs and discount structure; overseeing member loans. Communications and Marketing: To expand business and increase community awareness of the co-op by: developing a marketing plan; providing updates on current projects, specials, and events; seeking opportunities to publicize the co-op's mission; create advertising campaigns; be the co-op's contact for media opportunities and coordinate media events; maintain and update the website. Building and Maintenance: To expand business and increase community awareness of the co-op by: developing a marketing plan; providing updates on current projects, maintaining all appliances and equipment in satisfactory working condition, developing and maintaining a general building maintenance procedure, connecting with the Board of directors and financial committee concerning any material purchases. Buyers/ Inventory: To supply the grocery store with goods and services by: developing and maintaining an accurate inventory of purchases, considering member feedback about purchasing modifications, following budget allowances and trends when making purchases, developing maintaining relationships with suppliers.
