1. Eligibility - a) All full-time faculty, staff, administration are eligible for this award; b) The award recipient is not eligible again for five years.
2. Criteria - Servant Leadership is defined at OKCU as, “being a servant first… It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first. Then conscious choice brings one to aspire to lead. That person is sharply different from one who is leader first, perhaps because of the need to assuage an unusual power drive or to acquire material possessions…” (Robert Greenleaf). As a core value of our University mission, the recipient of this award models the behaviors they wish to teach the student body. Examples of service to the OKCU and wider community may include but is not exclusively limited to: participation in University, College, and/or departmental committees, campus citizenship, leading of service learning projects, faculty/student sponsorship, community engagement, volunteer work, community advocacy boards, and non-profit service.
3. Procedure for Nomination - Any full-time employee may be nominated by a faculty, staff, or administrator.
