Open positions' descriptions:

Chief Outreach Officer
The Outreach Officer helps manage all off campus related outreach, suggest leads, and is responsible for coordinating with scheduled guest speakers via email leading up to the guest speaker events.
  • Identify and reach out to guest speakers and other off-campus connections (in collaboration with presidents)

  • Maintain professionalism and warmth during email conversation

  • Coordinate logistics with guest speakers coming to campus (parking, communication, meeting location, etc.)

  • Spearhead all outreach efforts on CSUSM Giving Day


Social Media Manager (Instagram)
  • Event posts and stories

  • Manage our Instagram page end-to-end, checking in at least once a week.

  • Keep the account active, replying to comments and making sure everything is appropriate.

  • Take pictures during events that we can use in social media posts


Social Media Manager (LinkedIn)
  • Professional posts, and recaps/summaries (thanking guest speaker and @ing them)

  • Manage our LinkedIn page end-to-end, checking in at least once a week.

  • Keep the account active, replying to comments and reposting things relevant to us, such as other societies collaborations with us and CoBA events. Also make sure everything is appropriate.

  • Take pictures during events that we can use in social media posts


Brand Manager
Responsible for creating visual content for the MIS Society. This role owns the design and visual identity (brand) of the MIS Society. The Brand Manager works off requests from leadership (P/VP) and has full creative control over how content is visually designed.
  • Design event posters and social media graphics
  • Create and maintain visual templates for consistency
  • Own visual identity and branding of the MIS Society and its merchandise
  • Ensure all visuals align with a clean and professional style
  • Collaborate with LinkedIn and Instagram Managers on content needs

Ambassador
Ambassadors drive student engagement and recruitment on campus, acting somewhat like mascots and/or footsoldiers.
  • Represent and promote the MIS Society, maintaining active engagement with fellow students on campus

  • Attend all major events and org fairs

  • Support the Senior Ambassador's leads database (ex. Scoping out MIS Majors / prospective members)

Student Officers must meet minimum academic eligibility requirements outlined by CSU Coded Memorandum AA-2012-05: 
1. Be matriculated and enrolled at CSUSM. 
2. Maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 each term. 
3. Be in good standing with the University and not on probation of any kind. 
4. Earn at least six-semester units while holding office, as undergraduates. Graduate and Credential students must earn at least 3-semester units while holding office.
5. Is limited to 150-semester units or 125 percent of the units required for a specific baccalaureate degree objective, whichever is greater. Graduate and Credential students are allowed to earn a maximum of 50-semester units or 167 percent of the units required, whichever is greater.
