Application form - Student Film Competition 2018
Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival is organized yearly since 2004 by non-profit Verzio Film Foundation and Blinken OSA Archive, Budapest, Hungary.

The Student Film Competition is a selection of the best student/diploma films addressing human rights issues.

Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2018
Festival dates: November 6 - 11, 2018
Festival location: Budapest, Hungary

• No entry fee for applications to Verzio IHRDFF
• The film should be completed in 2017 or 2018, it should be a student film or a debut film
• Entry forms must be filled in English
• Incomplete applications will not be taken into consideration
• No re-submission of previously submitted films
• A separate application must be made for each film
• A film cannot be submitted to more than one category

We ask for a preview copy either sent to our office on DVD or as an online link.

• Preview copies must be submitted either IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE or WITH ENGLISH SUBTITLES
• DVD’s must be in our office on the day of the deadline
• Make sure that DVD’s are clearly marked with the Filmmakers’ name / Film title / Exact running time
• All packages sent from outside the EU must be clearly marked: NOT FOR TRADE / NO COMMERCIAL VALUE
• Online preview links should remain online and accessible until the end of September
• Make sure you send a downloadable link for archival purposes

The selection will be made by the Director of Verzio Film Festival, whose decision will be final; she may opt during this phase to be assisted by consultants of her own choosing. The selection of the films will be finalized in September, 2018, all applicants will be notified in e-mail.

I am duly authorized to submit this film to Verzio International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival. I do not hold the festival liable for any damage or loss of the film print en route due to improper containers or other conditions.
I understand that the submission of my work authorizes Verzio Film Festival to download the on-line viewing copy for the festival preview purposes and to retain a preview copy in Blinken OSA Archive for research and educational purposes only. I authorize the festival to use up to 2 minute film excerpts for promotion purposes. The Festival is not responsible for any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, or royalty infringement related to the work.
If selected, make sure to submit a DCP copy (24 fps) and a backup BluRay disk by October 1, 2018.
